EARLY PRIMITIVE AMERICAN ANTIQUE TIN NEW OXFORD PA.BARN LIGHT
I feel that this piece would look great hanging or if weighted, it could set on top of a cupboard or displayed with an early lighting collection.
It measures 16 3/4" long x 13" tall. It appears to have been all hand soldered, still remaining in very good condition. The detail is great! There are two tubular burners, which still retain the original (or a least very early)rag wicks. The fuel container is in excellent condtion, as is the handle. Lastly there is a large curved bonnet which would have shaded the burning wicks..it too is in very good condition, with ever so minor surface rust.
Pieces like this were typically use in a barn, and not often found in such nice condition...if at all. This is only the second one I've been fortunate enough to offer and find it to be a unique piece of early lighting.
A great piece of American lighting out of New Oxford Pennsylvania. ($245)
