EARLY OVERSIZED HANDMADE SILK "TOMATO" PINCUSHION


Here is an early oversized handmade silk tomato pincushion for you to consider as a great addition to your collection. It is adorned with dark green wool and dark green silk thread.

This piece measures 14" in circumference,a little over 4" across and 3" tall. It seems to have been stuffed with either excelsior or perhaps straw and is quite substantial and well made. It was,of course, hand stitched.

The fabric surface has nicely darkened with age to a rich dark cranberry.

This lovely piece of early Americana was originally found in Berks County Pennsylvania. It is very likely one of a kind. ($95)
